Escape of "Book Gremlin" 22Jan24

 Ill health, struggles and doodles

Today I've been struggling with a cold on top of my chronic health which has caused some difficult issues.

Like when you cannot push yourself to class (or in my case BACK from class) who is responsible for getting you back. Well everyone passes the buck around and around. And all due to liability. Because what happens if I pass out while they are pushing me back? I understand - that is an issue. But surely, leaving an ill disabled person outside in the cold because they could pass out on the minute walk to another uni building is more dangerous as instead of somewhere safe you've left them out of your sight, surrounded by strangers who have headphones in and are attached to their phones so wouldn't notice a passed out wheelchair user, would be a bigger liability.

But you know

Out of sight, out of mind.

After being helped home by my boyfriend - who had to cycle from the opposite side of the city, I bundled myself up against their side and did some drawing while they rested playing my Xbox, before heading back out and home to theirs. I focused on a request from my son. He wanted me to animate my book gremlin climbing out of a black tablet with red highlights. His unparalleled belief in my nonexistent animation skills is wonderful and all but I did whittle him down to an image that I may animate at a much later date. You know. If I ever learn to animate.

So here it is.

What should I name them?

What's your experience with Microsoft?

As a Creative Writing Student, I have an interesting relationship with Microsoft products. Word and I have worked together since the age of Clippy. We work together so regularly that my computer weeps with joy when I open my projects. We spend hours together staring blankly at each other. Our trials and tribulations also extend to the unique differences in software versions. For instance, my computer, laptop, and the university's library all have different versions, which can cause some interesting formatting errors. I use Excel to track word count, story progression, and CYOA paths because English requires a lot of math. I know how to use Outlook even if we aren't on speaking terms, it knows what it did. It's so secure that it bricks your computer if you lose access to the e-mail. I use Publisher often to type-set projects and I get on well enough with PowerPoint to make niche presentations and Pitch Decks. I currently use Edge. OneNote seems interesting, but ...
