Happy New Year!

Welcome to my new blog with a Happy New Year, may your health be stable and pain be manageable.

Hi there, I am Ms Ditz. First name Disastrous. :P

I am 31, a Creative Writing Student and a Muma of two chaos gremlins. One of which turned 11 on boxing day. Wow - doesn't time just fly.

I wrung in the new year with a snotty child pressed into my side - you know the type, "I'm not tired" repeated every few minutes and who falls asleep the moment the fireworks finish. - and another dancing like a wacky waving inflatable tube man. My own flu battling my PoTs (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and my aunt perched beside us, resting from the multitude of board games we had played over the last few days.

It got me thinking about resolutions (how long this will last is up in the air). My son wants his friends to get along, my daughter is uncertain why we all do this and my own to actually keep up with social media this year - my course dragging me kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

What's your New Year's Resolution?

Productive Procrastination

Today while trying to complete my Critical Essay I have reorganised my uni accommodation room, came up with ideas for storage that I'd like, designed a banner and a logo, read several short stories and as evidence here, I have even started the dreaded journey of becoming online.

I have a conclusion and an intro left to write and a ton of spare words that need to be shoved in somewhere edited in lovingly. They want to know what difficulties I found while writing. I found none with the actual writing bit just my stupid brain getting stuck due to trauma, meaning I knew what I wanted to write just that I didn't have the ability to get it out of my head over fear of repercussions (that no longer exist). I have till Friday and I get my B12 tomorrow so hopefully that will help me with my writing.

I hope whoever reads this had a better time with any of their Essays/Dissertations/Work they needed to complete.

Has anyone else made a start on their resolution?
Would anyone like to read any of my work?
Do you have any prompts for me to respond to?

What's your experience with Microsoft?

As a Creative Writing Student, I have an interesting relationship with Microsoft products. Word and I have worked together since the age of Clippy. We work together so regularly that my computer weeps with joy when I open my projects. We spend hours together staring blankly at each other. Our trials and tribulations also extend to the unique differences in software versions. For instance, my computer, laptop, and the university's library all have different versions, which can cause some interesting formatting errors. I use Excel to track word count, story progression, and CYOA paths because English requires a lot of math. I know how to use Outlook even if we aren't on speaking terms, it knows what it did. It's so secure that it bricks your computer if you lose access to the e-mail. I use Publisher often to type-set projects and I get on well enough with PowerPoint to make niche presentations and Pitch Decks. I currently use Edge. OneNote seems interesting, but ...
